Stacking the Shelves (106)

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews. Share all of the bookish goodies you got during the week!

The High Mountains of Portugal by Yann Martel

I attended an event as part of the Brisbane Writers Festival this week, In Conversation with Yann Martel. It's where I bought the book, above, and I had it, as well as my copy of Life of Pi, signed. They're signed to both myself and my father because we both enjoy his work and share his books. It was a great night. Martel is a brilliant man and writer, so very intelligent and insightful. The way he sees and describes the world, it blows my mind. He either surprises me with his profound views, or has me thinking "yes, he gets it!" I'm very glad to have been able to listen to him and meet him.

What new books did you get this week? Have you met any authors recently? Do you like Yann Martel's books?

EDIT: Apologies, I've just noticed I'd saved rather than published my last couple of posts. Again. Someday I'll learn. Maybe after another 2 years of blogging?!
