Bout of Books Read-a-Thon Challenge: Book to Movie Adaptations

Bout of Books

The first day of Bout of Books 17 is underway and here we have our first challenge, thanks to Writing My Own Fairytale.

It's an easy one! Simply share your most favourite and least favourite book to movie adaptations and be sure to enter at Writing My Own Fairytale to win.

My Most Favourite Adaptation - Bridge to Terabithia

It's pretty much exactly the book and I love that. I watch this movie every time I see it on...and bawl and bawl. It's beautiful.

My Least Favourite Adaptation - My Sister's Keeper

I read the book in one sitting and it destroyed me. The movie was going well until they totally chickened out and ruined the ending. The thing that made the book so original and brilliant was it's shocking ending, so sitting through that movie only to be blindsided was a joke. All the emotion was lost.

So how about you? Tell me your most and least favourite book to movie adaptations.

  1. I don't like it when when movies don't follow a book!!

I didn't like the movie adaptation of Hannibal by Thomas Harris because they didn't follow the book either.

    1. I'm with you. I do understand when some things - little things! - are left out to shorten the movie length, but I hate when they change huge things from the book. S'why books are always better, right? ;-)
