Feature & Follow Friday: Pets

Feature & Follow Friday is hosted by Rachel over at Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. This is a chance to get to know fellow book bloggers and have them meet you. Be sure to pop over and meet this week's featured bloggers!

If you could have any animal in the world as a pet, what would you pick? Fictional ones count too!

That would be a unicorn. Absolutely, no further thought necessary. I've always loved unicorns and to have them be real would be amazing and to have one as a pet would blow my mind. Which is kind of funny, because I'm not actually that interested in horses. I always think I should be as they're the next best thing, but nope.

I wish I could have so many pets. I want a house full of cats and dogs! I have a Westie (above), Finn, and he's spoiled so he doesn't play well with others unfortunately. Someday though I'd like to own more pets. I want a rabbit but they're illegal in my state. Boo. So I've been thinking of maybe an owl or a turtle...something a little different. Any suggestions?

What animal would you choose as a pet? Do you have any pets in real life?

  1. Unicorns are so cool! Such majestic beasts. *u*

But I wish I could have more animals as well. If I'm not careful, I'll turn into a pet hoarder :P

  2. Unicorns are just gorgeous and your dog is adorable. I have two cats but I love all animals. I can definitely understand how people end up with too many animals because everytime I see one, I want to take it home. I followed in every way except email because I already get too many of those and tend to get overwhelmed... lol.

    1. Aw, thanks, Laura! For the comment and for following. You're awesome! Yeah, I don't follow much by email these days either. My inbox can't handle it! ;-)

I wish I had a cat, or two! I've always wanted one but my family - nor Finn! - are cat people. Maybe someday though. But yes, like you, I love all animals and I'm constantly wanting to bring more home. I can absolutely see my house full of all sorts of animals. They're just so cute! :-D

  3. Finn is soooo cute. I have 2 boxers (evident from my blog) but I think if I could have any animal for a pet it would be a lion in real life and a gargoyle as a fictional character. Great question!

    1. Finn definitely is - and he knows it! ;-) I'll be heading to your blog to check out your boxers. I love dogs, they've got such amazing personalities. :-D Oooh, a lion! That's a fantastic choice. Though I admit to being a little freaked out by them sometimes, haha. And yes to a gargoyle!! I've just started a series where the MC looks to become friends with a gargoyle. Awesome! Thanks for stopping by, Barb.

    1. Yep, here in Queensland, Australia it's illegal to have rabbits as pets. There's a whopping $30,000 fine!!!! I'm so sad. I was all set to get one, researching breeds and all, when I found out. :-( Finn would have hated having a rabbit around though, so it's probably for the best. ;-) Thanks, Maggie.

  7. Rabbits are illegal where you live? Aww. Your dog is super cute though. I couldn't have another animal with my dog, but I'd like a cat someday. Well, a boy cat. They tend to be nicer!

    1. Yeah, here in Queensland, Australia having a pet rabbit will catch you a $30,000 fine. They're considered pests, which is sad. Personally I think rather than being entirely illegal there just should be a license or something and if you're responsible for your pet rabbit getting out in the wild, then you face a fine...but that's mostly because I so desperately want a rabbit, lol!

Like you though I can't really have other animals around my dog. He's not bad, he just wants to play and have attention so badly he doesn't leave them alone. ;-) I'd like a cat too! And more dogs. Just lots and lots of animals. :-D Thanks for stopping by!

  9. Unicorns are such beautiful, innocent creatures.....I wish they were real, so I could have one! I do love horses, so naturally, unicorns are included in that category.

Your dog looks so cute!! If I had a dog, I'd probably spoil him/her rotten, too. However, I do prefer horses, so I can brush out their manes and tails. (Kind of like "My Little Pony", lol.)

How sad that owning rabbits is illegal in your state.....I wonder if that's the case in Florida.....hmmmm. Kinda weird.

Thanks for sharing your great answer! Happy Reading!! : )

    1. They are beautiful. Ever since I was really young I've been entranced by unicorns. I wish so much they were real too. I don't know why it never translated to love of horses though. I like them, I think they're so majestic, but never really wanted one. Or wanted to be around one. I worked out recently I'm a little afraid to get close to them. My neighbour has a few, she runs riding lessons, and asked me to come around so that the horses could get used to someone in a wheelchair as she wants to start teaching disabled children. The horses were fine with me but my heart was pounding! It was great how they came close and watched me though. :-D

Finn thanks you for the compliment! ;-) He knows he's cute, it's one of the reasons he's so spoiled, haha. He's full of cuddles and totally owns my heart. If I had a horse I'd want to dye it so it was a My Little Pony, lol. I'm terrible!

It is sad rabbits are illegal. :-( I still desperately want one. They're just so adorable! But yes, here in Queensland, Australia pet bunnies are a no-no. It is weird. It's believed the population won't be controlled if they're allowed as pets or something. Boo.

Thanks for stopping by, Maria. :-D

    2. Oh, for some reason I thought you were in the U.S.! Lol. I do hope that someday the law changes, and you'll be able to have a rabbit! : )

  10. Yay for unicorns! And your dog is adorable! Rabbits are really illegal in your state? This is the first time I've heard of rabbits being illegal as pets. And owl would be interesting and turtles are one of my favorite animals.

    1. Thanks, Stina. Yeah, here in Queensland, Australia having a pet rabbit is illegal. There's a $30,000 fine! I'd never heard of such a thing either. It's broken my heart. :-( I love turtles too so I'm definitely thinking one as a pet would be awesome. And yes, an owl would be interesting! I know pet turtles are allowed but I haven't looked into owls yet. I shall see! Thanks for stopping by. :-D

  11. I've seen a few people choosing unicorns today, I can see why as they are stunning but I personally would rather have a pegasus I think and the ability to fly would be very useful indeed xx

    1. Ooh, pegasus is a fantastic choice, especially for the flying. I wish I'd considered a pegasus/unicorn! Best of both worlds! ;-)
