Bout of Books Read-A-Thon Challenge: Bookish Survey

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books Read-A-Thon is underway! During the week there'll be challenges and giveaways to go along with all of the reading fun, and the first challenge is a Bookish Survey thanks to Writing My Own Fairytale!

How do you organise your shelves?

I don't. And as a qualified librarian, that breaks my heart. I do try to keep books written by the same author and series' together, but it doesn't always last. Honestly, my shelves truly have no rhyme or reason. I simply fill up the shelf space as I buy more books. I always think I'll arrange them someday - maybe in alphabetical order by author, or pretty colours, or I don't know, something! - but it just doesn't happen. Still, I love my shelves! They're filled with books and nik-naks, just as I like them, and I always know where a book is anyways, so it works.

What is one of your favourite books that's not in your favourite genre?

First I have to decide what my favourite genre is! I think probably contemporary, so maybe I can say the Harry Potter series as it's fantasy? But I do love fantasy a whole lot too, it's on par with contemporary. As is paranormal. This is hard. Oh, maybe The Agency series by Y.S. Lee which is historical? Yes, let's go with that!

What is the last 5 star book you read?

That would be Sarah Dessen's Saint Anything. So much love!

What book are you most excited to read during the read-a-thon?

I'm challenging myself to try and read 2 books a day, so there's a few! I'll narrow it down to Kissing in America by Margo Rabb and Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker.

What book do you recommend the most?

My most favouritest series is Harry Potter, so I'll always recommend it. I've also tried to get friends to read Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake and Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. They're also favourites. Plus anything by Sarah Dessen.

If you're interested to join in the fun of the read-a-thon there's still time. Sign up at Bout of Books!

Back to reading I go!
