Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

What a coincidence! Just today I was thinking how I do and I don't want to see Erin Morgenstern's The Night Circus as a movie. See, today I went to the Great Moscow Circus and I loved it. So on the way home I was thinking how I wished Le Cirque des RĂªves was real...which then had me thinking of it as a movie. A movie adaptation is the closest I might ever come to seeing it brought to life...but I truly don't believe a movie could really capture everything The Night Circus is. That book is, quiet simply, wow. But I think it might be getting turned into a movie? So I guess we'll see...

Is there a book you'd be worried seeing as a movie?

  2. That was my pick as well. I just don't see how they could translate the beauty and magic of the circus to the big screen.

  6. I have faith they could translate the circus on screen because while reading it, I was reminded of Cirque du Soleil. At the very least, it would be a beautiful film!

  7. Hopping through. I adored The Night Circus. I don't know how that would work as a movie. I hope it's not made b/c it couldn't do it justice.

  9. I dunno, they can do some pretty amazing things with CGI these days... The Night Circus would have to be either the most beautiful movie ever, or kind of disappointing!

  11. I feel the same way! I would love to see The Night Circus as a movie, but only if it's really, really good! And I'm afraid an adaptation wouldn't be!
