I can't wait for...
Team Human by Justine Larbalestier and Sarah Rees Brennan!

When a vampire shows up at Mel's high school, it's up to Mel to keep her best friend from falling in love with him. Add a mysterious disappearance, a cranky vampire cop, a number of unlikely romantic entanglements, and the occasional zombie, and soon Mel is hip-deep in an adventure that is equal parts hilarious and poignant. (summary from Goodreads)
When I first heard about this one I just had to snicker. Especially considering the authors and their claims about how they came up with the idea, etc. I don't doubt it's going to be worth a lot of laughs and for that I'm really looking forward to it. There are quite a few comments about this over on it's Goodreads page, some where people seem to be taking it a little too seriously, which surprised me. Personally, I'm liking everything about it as it's all obviously in fun. Plus, having read some of the 'rewrites' Sarah Rees Brennan has done on her blog - like Teen Wolf & Jane Eyre, for example - which had me laughing until I cried, I can't help but be earger for this one!
Team Human by Justine Larbalestier & Sarah Rees Brennan is due out 3 July 2012.

I'm fed up of vampire books, but anything with Sarah Rees Brennan writing or co-writing is going to be awesome, so I'll ignore that...
ReplyDeleteHave you seen her sequel to Peter Pan? The Spy Who Never Grew Up - phenomenal, one of my favourite ever shorts.

A paranormal adventure? This is the first time I've heard about this book, but I know of the authors. Er, or at least one of them. Looking forward to checking it out in-depth.

@Giselle I think in some ways it is meant to be - I can't remember where, but I read that the authors came up with the idea while reading or watching New Moon! Certainly should be a fun read, either way!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting!
@YA Yeah Yeah While I haven't read her Demon's Lexicon series (I'm planning to though!), from her blog alone I'm willing to read this. She has a great sense of humour!
