This is my first time joining in the Follow Me Friday fun, and if you're new to my blog, welcome! Please say Hi!

This week's question is...

Q. Talk abo
ut the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?).

There are two series that immediately jump to mind for me, and they are Ann M. Martin's The Babysitter's Club and J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter, for different reasons. When I was young, I remember having really bad nightmares. To help try and stave off these bad dreams, I'd read The Babysitter's Club before bed, or if I did wake up after such a dream, I'd read some before going back to sleep. These books comforted me and were the first to teach me how valuable books are.

The Harry Potter series is pretty much my all time favourite series of books. I was 18 when I first read The Philopher's Stone. One of my best friends actually gave it to me as a present for my 18th. I've always loved reading, but I wasn't reading as much during Uni - outside school books, at least. Harry Potter not only reignited my love of reading but it also started me on my path to reading children's and young adult fiction.

  3. Another BSC fan! I loved those books as a kid and read them over and over. Harry Potter is another popular answer; those books really impacted an entire generation.

    Happy Friday!
