Author Signing - Lauren Kate

This week Lauren Kate, author of the Fallen series, visited Brisbane! I attended her signing yesterday at Dymocks at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, which was fun.

LinkLauren was really lovely. She chatted to everyone, signed our books, and took photos with anyone who wanted one. I was impressed with how smooth it all ran. Thankfully I arrived early and wasn't in line too long - boy, did that line grow in minutes!

Lauren told me how much she'd been able to travel as an author and how much she's been enjoying her book tour. I told her I hadn't read Passion yet, but was looking forward to finding out more about Luce and Daniel. I also told her I found Luce really frustrating, which made her laugh. She said she did too, but was glad to have Luce grow. I truly liked the way she talked about her characters as if she had no control of them. When I told her that I had some inklings about Luce, she said that book 4 - Rapture - was a surprise to her, but that she hopes I like how everything turns out. Now I'm so intrigued!

It was great meeting Lauren, and I'm definitely looking forward to attending more author signings in the future!

  1. I also attended Lauren Kate's signing @ Dymocks but at Parramatta. They were meant to have been giving out the bookmarks but it seems that they had lost it or a staff forgot it, so very disappointed :(

Having said that, the signing and Lauren was AMAZING! I'll be posting pics up @ my blog soon, I'm a bit behind on posting as I've been reading a lot for the MS Readathon.

  2. That's a shame about the bookmarks! It was nice to have something else for her to sign too. She's so nice, isn't she? I liked chatting with her. :-)

I'll be sure to stop by and check out your post and pics!

Good luck with the MS Readathon!

  4. @:: Lavender's Green :: They're pretty good. I get hooked reading them, but they really frustrate me too. Certainly not for everybody! :-D
