In My Mailbox (1)

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.

Figured I'd do this this week, though I don't have much. I went to my local Borders closing down sale, and found some books for half price! Great, but sad to see Borders go.

Bought:
Fever by Amy Meredith (didn't realise it was book 3, so I'll be hunting down the others)
Low Red Moon by Ivy Devlin
Princess for Hire by Lindsey Leavitt
Make Lemonade by Virginia Euwer Wolff
A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb

NetGalley:

Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson
Two Moon Princess by Carmen Ferreiro-Esteban

  1. A Certain Slant of Light sounds eerie, but also interesting, I'll have to keep a look out for it. Your stack there looks really good. I tried Borders in Brisbane this but sadly walked away with nothing...

  2. Hi Baggins! I just found your blog through the IMM for this week and I am now a new follower :) I am from New York, so it will be great to see books from another country!

I am so sad about Borders being in trouble-- luckily the one near where I live is still around, but who knows if they will all go out-- I actually like Borders better than Barnes and Noble (do you have them in Australia too?) and it would be the greatest shame if all bookstores go out of business! Hopefully that will not happen...

I hope that you enjoy all the books that you got this week, looking forward to reading your reviews on them! Feel free to stop by and see me sometime, and happy reading!!

  3. Hi Brett! Thanks for following!

A Certain Slant of Light does sound eerie! I've read a couple of good reviews of it, and that cover really drew me. I'm looking forward to reading it, hopefully I'll have a review up soon!

I think Borders has sold out real fast. There was a lot gone already when I was there, which was just over a week ago. Figured it wouldn't be long until it's all gone! Bit sad.

    Anyways, thanks for commenting!

  4. Hi Lea! Thanks for stopping by and becoming a follower! I really appreciate it!

It is sad about Borders, especially as there's only the one here in Brisbane! It's always been my favourite too! I don't believe we have Barnes & Noble here. However, Borders was partnered with an Australian chain called Angus & Robertson, and a few of them are closing down too. Always sad to see bookstores go!

I should have some reviews up soon, looking forward to reading this lot! I'll be sure to check out your blog too! Thanks again!

  5. Borders will still be open at Chermside, we'll have to go out there and have a hot chocolate at Gloria Jeans together :)
